BISCO silicones are used to manufacture gaskets, seals, heat shields, insulation, and more. It’s a versatile material, but if your company buys it in bulk, it may need to be kept in storage for a while until it’s needed.

Fortunately, one of the benefits of BISCO is that it can be stored for a considerable amount of time while retaining its key characteristics. BISCO silicone (without adhesives) will last 10 years if kept in:

  • Original packaging
  • Roll form (not cut or laminated)
  • Temperatures between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Humidity levels between 40% and 75%

If you order the silicones with adhesives, the shelf-life is much lower. BISCO products will last between 6 months (w/silicone laminated adhesives) and 18 months (w/acrylic laminated adhesives) if they’re kept in:

  • Temperatures between 70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Humidity levels between 45% and 55%
